Nestled at the eastern edge of the Shenandoah National Park in the shadow of Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon, DuCard Vineyards offers delicious wine in a gorgeous setting with 7 acres of French vinifera and native Virginia varieties, all meticulously nurtured and tended by hand.
They grow the four grapes that are gaining national and international recognition as Virginia’s stars: Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Virginia Native Norton-- with wines are made in small lots that emphasize each varietal’s unique characteristics.
The new tasting room, designed locally by Mountain Lumber Co, uses beautiful reclaimed wood “harvested” from barns on the property, and this is the only winery in Virginia to be fully solar-powered.
